Yesterday was a lovely day, it was spent with my fellow bride-to-be Emma and our mums at the National Wedding Show in London.
We did have a bit of a mission trying to get there (3 hours! We got lost on the tube. Tourists!) and I wasn't sure what to expect, I'd been to Clothes Show Live before and hated it, too many people combined with crappy clothes. But the National Wedding Show? I LOVED it!
We chose to go on a Friday which is probably your best bet if you want to avoid big crowds, it was busy but not overbearing. The dresses were stunning. Some for every taste. I tried some on which I haven't done before and that was fun, it also showed me what works for me and what doesn't which was great. The dresses weren't cheap and luckily there weren't any that I fell in love with (although most stalls were offering discounts) I got hold of a lot of buisness cards so I'll have a lot to go through when the serious business of dress shopping comes around.
We watched the catwalk show which showcased some stunning dresses, shame that we don't all look like the gorgeous models! There were also talks being held on various subjects such choosing your perfect wedding cake or tips on planning and budgetting for your big day.
The highlight had to be the party booth for us. Great fun! I want one at my wedding!
If you get the chance to go to one of these fayres do, it was a great day out! You can find more information here.
