Christmas

You'll have to excuse the lateness of this post. If you read yesterday's post you'll know that I've been waiting for my card reader to arrive, which finally arrived today!

Christmas was magical this year and I'm so sad that it's over already! All that anticipation and it went by in the blink of an eye.

Anyway, here was our Christmas.

Christmas eve was a busy one for us. In between visiting, visitors, a trip to Nath's parents pub for a quick traditional Christmas eve drink followed by a feast of Chinese food at our house, I thought it would be best if I gave Ava her Christmas eve basket in the morning. Her basket contained:

  • The Night Before Christmas storybook
  • The Snowman & The Snowman and the Snow Dog dvds
  • Sofia The First Pajamas
  • Nutcracker tree decoration
  • Cadbury buttons
  • chocolate snowman lollipop
She was chuffed to bits with it and it's definitely a tradition I'm going to keep up.

Once Ava was in bed, after setting out the obligatory treats for Father Christmas, we set about building Ava's new wooden kitchen! What a nightmare that was! After building it upside down and using various swear words I gave it up as a bad job and let Nath take over.

On Christmas day I woke before Nath and Ava and just lay there, willing them both to wake up! I was so excited! Despite a rocky start (Ava having a tantrum soon after waking), once she saw her pressies she soon perked up! Highlights were the kitchen, My First Baby Annabel and her Silvercross Stroller.

After cooking up a big breakfast for us all and my dad who popped over with presents, we got our glad rags on and made our way to my auntie's.

Ava had even more gifts and after unwrapping them wanted to get each one out of the box! The food was lovely and as usual I ate too much but kept on eating, even when we got home I was munching on the chocolates!

On boxing day we enjoyed a meal out with Nathan's family and opened some more gifts. It was only when going through my photos did I realise how few I took, and I know my mum is upset she didn't have any with Ava. The day seemed to whizz by and was over before I knew it!

I managed to grab a quick selfie with Ava on Christmas day.

And got a photo of the three of us on boxing day

But I'm quite annoyed at my useless camera skills, I'll put it down to the fact that I was enjoying the day so much! I received some lovely gifts, new trainers for the gym, shopping vouchers, bits and bobs for my kitchen, Chanel products, Soap & Glory gift set and many more things!

We had such a lovely Christmas and it was over far too quickly. I'm so ready for the year ahead though, we have so much to look forward to!
