My mummy style with Petit Bateau*

I'm not really sure how I'd describe my style, I love being comfortable during the day, with jeans and trainers being my staple. I went through an awkward goth stage as a teenager and I remember trying to dress "normally" after wearing black netting and biker boots for so long, my outfits were a hideous mismatch of what I thought was fashionable at the time. It definitely wasn't!

I like to think my dress sense has got better over time and I have grown to love clothes shopping and I know what suits me. Something that I have always loved is stripes. Stripes, especially Breton stripes feature very heavily in my wardrobe and I can't help but think that my childhood in France has something to do with that.

Having lived in France for 9 years, I'd of course heard of Petit Bateau. Petit Bateau have been creating gorgeous clothing for over 120 years using only the best fabrics.

I must admit I wasn't aware that they made clothing for adults so I was thrilled to add some famous Petit Bateau stripes to my stripey wardrobe.

The thing that I love the most about this top is it's versatility. It's slightly baggy which means that it can be thrown together with jeans or underneath a blazer and with a pair of heels to dress it up a little. It's the perfect item of clothing for a smart/casual wardrobe. I decided to dress my top up a little and paired it with my favourite Zara blazer.

It's such a well made piece and the cotton feels very luxurious. There are so many to choose from on their website. I know that this top is going to serve me well for years to come!

*The Petit Bateau top was sent to me free of charge in exchange for this review. Thoughts are 100% my own
