The Weekend #8 Catching up & Father's Day

We returned from Bluestone in Wales on Friday, reviews shall be up this week but in the meantime you can watch the first of two vlogs via my YouTube channel or I have linked the video below.

Saturday 20th June 2015

As you can imagine this weekend has been a bit of a crazy one. Bluestone is a fantastic place but it's definitely not a place where you can go and chill out. It's adventure packed! We had an absolute blast but are absolutely shattered now.

Ava had ballet on Saturday morning, which we were late for! My mum was visiting for Father's Day this weekend and wanted to watch Ava's lesson. It was so lovely of her to see what Ava gets up to as I know she'd love to be able to take her if she didn't live so far away. I then seemed to have spent the rest of the day running around like a headless chicken. Ava had a birthday party 12-3 but Nath kindly took her so that I could get myself sorted. Nath had been shopping whilst Ava and I were at ballet, we have a Christening and a Wedding next month so I set him the mission to find Ava a new dress. He did so well! I love this little number from Next.

He also found these cute trainers for her to knock about in for £15 in the sale. They're too big at the moment but they'll soon fit her.

Whilst Ava and Nath were at the party I raced off to buy last minute Father's Day gifts, nothing like being organised, and decided to treat myself to this lovely Sass & Belle elephant mug that I've had my eye on. Since buying our own home I love buying homeware and mugs have become my new "thing" I like them to be a good size with a quirky pattern or quote on the front. I want to build up a collection of funky mugs! Such a saddo.

I love these Oh My Goodness pots from Sainsbury's as they're relatively healthy. I had the chicken Laksa curry and it was so good! I definitely want to re-create it at home. These pots are great for grabbing a quick lunch on the go.

Nath was going out in the evening so Ava and I had a toddler friendly tea of fish fingers, potato waffles and peas and cuddled up watching Mulan on Netflix. How ace is Netflix by the way?! Nath only signed us up last month but we're loving it. Ava had strawberries, ice cream and chocolate sprinkles whilst I tried to keep it healthy with some Total yoghurt, strawberries & honey.

Unfortunately as Ava had a nap after the party she didn't go to bed until gone 10.00pm which was a nightmare!

Sunday 21st June 2015

Sunday I woke up on the wrong side of the bed after Nath not getting in until late. I can't sleep until he's home (because I'm a wimp) and ended up being restless until 4am!

Nath was presented with his Father's Day gifts (a new Ted Baker wallet and a book) and he got ready to play in a charity football match taking place in our town.

Ava and I got ready for lunch with my family, my dad was working and he'd popped round on Friday for his pressies and it's also my grandad's birthday on Monday so it was lovely to spend some time with them.

The meal was gorgeous!

Starter of portobello mushrooms stuffed with goats cheese.

Roast lamb

and baked blueberry and almond cheesecake.

Ava and my cousin burnt off their dinner by having a run around in the huge gardens.

We then all went up to my nan's to open some of my granddad's presents and have some early birthday cake.

Nath and I had planned to go out for a meal ourselves with Ava but after my huge lunch, his late night and an exhausted toddler on our hands it was back home to order Chinese instead!

I'm dreading work on Monday! There's nothing worse than returning to work after a break. It's my turn for a night out next weekend so I'm already counting down the days!

What have you been up to?
